    We were deeply saddened to learn of the April 27 bombings in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. We stand with the people of Ukraine and offer our sympathy to the victims and their families. We join the Government of Ukraine in calling for justice for the victims of these bombings.

    The United States Ambassador to Ukraine John F. Tefft and Thomas O. Melia, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor visited former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in her hospital in Kharkiv on Monday May 14. They conveyed messages of concern for her treatment from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Mrs. Tymoshenko told them about her current situation.
