Ambassador John Tefft Awards Students with Certificates for Their Achievements

135 Ukrainian Access Microscholarship students from around Ukraine participated in an Acrostic Poetry Contest sponsored by the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv on the topic “Inspire America for the Elections.” Ten Access winners (2 from each Access center) and four Access teachers were invited to an election day breakfast celebration held at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv on the morning of November 7th. Students were awarded certificates for their achievements from Ambassador John Tefft and had the opportunity to meet distinguished diplomats, scholars, and a range of leaders in the public and private sectors. Through this experience Access students had the opportunity to learn more about the U.S. election process. Winning poems will be posted on the embassy’s website.
