2008 Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation Program

American Embassy Kyiv is pleased to announce a call for proposals for the 2008 Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation Program. The Fund was established by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs in 2001 to help other countries preserve cultural heritage and demonstrate U.S. respect for other cultures.

Proposals may include preservation projects directed at:

An object or collection of objects from a site, a museum, or similar institution. This might include, but is not limited to:

A cultural site or sites. This may include, but is not limited to:

Forms of traditional cultural expression. This might include, but is not limited to:

Application Requirements:

1. Detailed description of the project and participants, including the time frame for completion.

2. Indication of the importance of the cultural or sacred site, object or collection or form of expression. All should have a close association with the history and cultural development of Ukraine and demonstrate a need for preservation or conservation.

3. Indication of the urgency of the project.

4. Detailed budget

5. The impact of the U.S. contribution to the preservation project.

6. Grantee - must be an established organization or institution. No grants can be approved for individuals.

7. Resume of the Project Director and other professional staff.

8. Indication of other funding sources, if any. (Preference is given to those projects with local non-United States Government source cost sharing.)
