SELECTION FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM FOR 2010-2011

The Public Affairs Section of the United States Embassy in Ukraine is happy to announce the beginning of testing for the FLEX program in Ukraine for the 2010-2011 school year.

Now in its 18th year, the FLEX program sends high school students from all over the NIS to study in the United States for one academic year. 292 Ukrainian finalists were selected for the 2009-2010 school year.

Testing will take place for all interested students throughout Ukraine starting in September. For information about testing in your region, please visit: www.americancouncilskyiv.org.ua/

FLEX is free of cost to participants that meet the basic eligibility requirements:

  • 8th, 9th and 10th grade (for 2009-2010 school year)
  • Birth date between January 1 1993 – July 15 1995
  • Have good or excellent grades
  • Have some knowledge of English
  • Meet the requirements for receipt of a US visa

In addition, FLEX welcomes participants with physical disabilities, and is willing to make separate testing arrangements for participants with vision, hearing, mobility or other physical impairments. Students with disabilities wishing to participate in FLEX must meet the following requirements:

  • Be studying in the 8th, 9th 10th 11th or 12th grade (for the 2009-2010 school year)
  • Birth date between March 15 1992 – July 15 1995
  • Have good or excellent grades
  • Have some knowledge of English
  • Meet the requirements for receipt of a US visa
