SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Regardless of the purpose of travel, all applicants:

  1. who were/are presently involved with a specific institution or company which engages in technical or scientific business or study, or
  2. have expertise in sensitive technologies

must submit the following forms and documents:

  • General Application Package depending on a visa type
  • U.S. invitation letter indicating the purpose of your travel
  • Completed and printed questionnaire: MAP-form
  • Current detailed resume (CV)
  • Complete list of publications in English (if any)
  • Summary of past research
  • Detailed description of the ongoing and/or future research, or work in the U.S.
  • The name of the U.S. inviting organization/person, including mailing address and telephone number
  • The name of the financial sponsor of the U.S. study/research/business trip, letters of support from the financial sponsor
  • List of references in the applicant’s country of birth or residence
  • Letters of recommendation from a United States inviting organization or from Ukraine
  • Tentative travel itinerary to the U.S. It’s not recommended to buy tickets until the visa has been issued

NOTE: All submitted forms must be in English.

Please send your CV or MAP-form by e-mail to Kyivmap@state.gov a day or two prior to your visa interview in the Consular Section. Be sure to include your full name in the subject line.

The applicants should be aware of possible undetermined delays in the visa issuance process due to administrative processing.
